Sandringham & Balmoral Flood Recovery Planning Project Together to Thrive! Following major storms and flooding in our area, SPiCE is working with the Tāmaki Makaurau Recovery Office to facilitate community-led recovery planning in the Sandringham and Balmoral communities. Alongside other local groups, we are supporting our communities to connect, work together, and consider how we can all support our community to thrive. Our new Community Facilitator, Trixi, is excited to join our SPiCE team! Trixi grew up in Punakaiki, Te Waipounamu and after many years working abroad has returned to Aotearoa to settle in Tāmaki Makaurau with her whānau. She is a passionate community development practitioner with over 20 years of experience designing and delivering inclusive, creative, and community-led initiatives across Aotearoa, Australia and the United Kingdom. Trixi loves collaborating with communities to deliver creative projects that honour Te Tiriti o Waitangi, amplify diverse voices, foster connection, and promote wellbeing. Holding a Master of Public Art (Community Arts/Social Practice), she is also an artist and leads the creative whānau collective, MANAHUA, based at Corban Estate Arts Center.
