Thank you everyone for your feedback in our recent survey, we've had a fantastic response.
We will be collating the responses and presenting them back to the community to agree on the priorities for Sandringham - you are invited to join us and help decide what these are on 28 May at Edendale School, any time between 2:30 and 5:00pm. The comments contributed will become the foundation of a vision report which will be presented to the Albert Eden Local Board in June.

Please give us your feedback about the future of Sandringham and win. Fill in our short survey here to tell us about your vision for Sandringham. When you're filling it in, have a think about: The information you and the rest of the community tell SPiCE about what you want for the future of Sandringham form part of an official vision document for Sandringham that the Local Board, Council, and the community can use when doing future projects.
Drop in to the Edendale Primary School Hall 28th May from 2:30-5pm to hear the feedback from the survey, and to have input into to the draft of the community led plan. If you have any further questions or suggestions, or you'd like to learn more about SPiCE, please contact us: contact@spice.org.nz Come along to Sandringham Reserve (corner of Sandringham and Lambeth Roads) to help make Auckland's first flower carpet this Saturday February 13th from 10:30am!
Did you grow any marigolds over the summer? If so, bring your flowers and everyone can lay their flowers down to help create the rangoli inspired community flower carpet, joining those grown by other members of the community. Together the community will make a flower carpet! At the event we will gather feedback on how you would like to see Sandringham as a whole developed in the future, to go into our Sandringham Vision Plan. Come to the tent and give feedback on Saturday and we'll have free samosas to say thanks. Sandringham Reserve will be closed from April-June as the new playground and reserve redevelopment is built. Posters of what’s planned will be on show during the marigold event. It is a great chance for us to enjoy the reserve together before it is redeveloped! We're looking forward to seeing you there! Have you seen the marigolds in the Sandringham shops and reserve? SPiCE is getting ready for making a community flower carpet in Sandringham Reserve on 13 February. You can also grow your own marigolds to bring along on the day too!
Thank you everyone (100 responses!) for helping us choose which artist will guide the redesign of Sandringham Reserve. Together we chose Katy Wallace and her vision "Neighbourhood Picnic".
Katy's artist statement and images are below, and we'll have more information as the design is developed further. Also, congratulations Sophie, winner of the $100 voucher to Paradise Restaurant. Artist Statement: Designed as an interpretive space, use it how you like - ride your trike around the circular track, play ball on the rubber circle mat, have your takeaways lounging on the warm deck, send the kids off to set up a fort and swing from the trees on the playground. This is a design created from the identity of its place, food - culture and community make it what it is. It will be a welcome oasis for locals and visitors alike. Sandringham Reserve Playground is soon to be renewed, share your ideas to help make our playground extraordinary
We are on the hunt for some inspirational ideas to make our Sandringham Reserve playground extraordinary, so we have devised the ULTIMATE weekend and school holiday challenge! Take your kids to at least 3 playgrounds and let us know what they and you love about them by 3rd August. Tell us about your visits in the survey below, or there's a printable version in word or pdf. Here’s a map of some great playgrounds and you may know another one – please tell us about them! All responses go into the draw to win a family meal worth $60 from one of Sandringham’s renowned local restaurants. Also - post a photo on our Facebook page with your kids playing on a playground you visit, and each photo goes in a draw to win a family pass to “Bounce and Beyond” or trampoline park “Jump”.
