DESCRIPTION:
Taumata Reserve is a great pocket park on the western slopes of Sandringham. Its large manicured grassy slopes (peppered with snow crocus flowers in spring), lead down to recently upgraded playground in the basin, suitable for younger children. There are great mature shade trees, picnic tables and seating surrounding the playground area. Two long slides are located to make use of the natural slope of the land, and are a highlight for many of the children using the park. Although in a natural basin the park feels open and is surrounded on 2 sides by residential properties, making it feel safe. Taumata Reserve is directly linked to Watea Reserve- wander through to the neighbouring dog-friendly Reserve by following the gravel path to the north west of the playground. |
